SCOPE OF THE JOB

Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, develop and deliver employee-training programs. Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter. May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.Identifies skill or knowledge gaps among the organizations employee population and develops training content in response to identified training needs.

2.Selects training tools or training delivery mechanisms, based on the material being taught and the audience being targeted. 

3.Creates and maintains course content, manuals, or other training materials.

4.Develops and implements new training classes as needed.

5.Tests functionality of all processes for upgrades and new implementations.

6.Provides support to Business Groups and other UFJPI Departments

7.Coordinates guest trainers or subject matter experts (SMEs).

8.Maintains professional knowledge by attending educational meetings and seminars.

9.Assesses the impact of training programs by measuring employee understanding of the subject matter.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

Tracks and documents trainee attendance.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Performs a variety of tasks.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be able to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, or unusual situations.  Must be capable of dealing with periodic cyclical workload pressures and levels of responsibility.  Required to make independent judgments without supervision.  Must be able to make generalizations, evaluations, or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria.  Must have the adaptability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.  Requires the ability to work with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.

Familiar with concepts, practices, and procedures of medical billing.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of (5) five years’ experience of health care experience in medical billing or related experience.

Proven ability to develop course work/presentations.

Ability to apply adult learning methodology in training classes/presentations.

Experience with medical systems preferred.

Knowledge of CPT and ICD Coding and Medical Terminology of most current versions

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bachelor’s in Healthcare, Finance, IT or Education preferred.

Epic certification is required based on position and must pass required EPIC Certification(s) within three (3) attempts to maintain employment. Certification completed within 8 months of employment.    

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification preferred.
