Job Description

 

Installs, tests, troubleshoots and repairs aircraft avionics and electrical system components in accordance with testing, engineering, maintenance and installation directives. Will be tasked to ensure Full Mission Capability of F-18 aircraft at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, FL.  This will included flight line operational testing, troubleshooting, adjustment, repair and installation of any complex or non-complex aircraft Electrical and Avionics systems in the testing, development and modification of aircraft and related systems in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier and other directives. Must comply with all Boeing policies and Procedures in place at Cecil Field; to include Safety FOD, and Tool Control. Performs assembly, installation, check-out physicalcharacteristics, operational testing and modification of wire bundles in thetesting, development and modification of F-18 aircraft.  



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:


  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 8  years of military jet fighter Avionics experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret DoD Clearance with ability to maintain.
  • Must understand and be able to perform maintenance of the F-18 Weapons systems, Navigation systems and Flight Instrument systems aboard the F-18.
  • Must have prior military aircraft experience, to include Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMS) expertise.
  • Must have knowledge of shop mathematics and practices and Electrical and Avionics theories and systems sufficient to perform assigned duties.
  • Able to use a variety of manual hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, heat shrink gun, etc.
  • Able to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, written instructions, etc.
  • Able to assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors and other electrical components.
  • Able to effectively communicate, orally and written, with other employees, members of supervision, and others, as required in their duties.
  • Able to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
  • Able to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment
  • Able to perform assigned duties on all shifts without encumbrances due to weather or physical location and conditions.
  • Able to assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors and other electrical components.
  • Able to effectively communicate, orally and written, with other employees, members of supervision, and others, as required in their duties.
  • Able to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
  • Able to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment
  • Able to perform assigned duties on all shifts without encumbrances due to weather or physical location and conditions.
