Jr User Experience Engineer
Job TitleJr User Experience Engineer
We are seeking a Junior User Experience Engineer (Jr. UX Engineer) who will help bridge the gap between the UX Design and UI Development teams. They will partner with researchers and UX designers to define and deliver new features, translate concepts into living, breathing prototypes, and iterate on interaction details to deliver the perfect experience. The Jr. UX Engineer will work with the UI Development team to engineer UI templates that integrate seamlessly into the application.
Ideal Candidate Profile
? Able to implement aesthetically pleasing designs through knowledge of front-end code (including knowledge of graphic design principles, typography, iconography, and web fonts)
? Is able to create re-useable code and templates in support of digital style guides/brand standards and prototypes (Web components using Angular v2.0, etc.)
? Can adhere to and participate in the creation of standards for code quality, accessibility, and system performance
? Willing to assist in establishing and adhering to process and engagement models as well as interacting with delivery partners (technology, user experience, and business teams)
? Brings a leadership mindset to the team that is used to champion and develop innovative ideas
? Participate in the full life-cycle development process from definition and design to product delivery as a member of a cross functional agile team
? Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to create exceptional user experiences that balance the needs of the user with business goals and technological capabilities
? Deliver innovative, engaging prototypes/templates in both low- and high-fidelity formats using the latest design patterns and front-end technologies
? Provide full keyboard and ARIA/accessibility support for any supplied templates
? Perform browser compatibility testing; implement test cases and automated test suites for new and existing front-end functionality
? Assist with user experience research and user acceptance testing
? Keep up to date on new technologies and share knowledge with the cross functional team
? Continuously improve software engineering practices
? Assist in producing user documentation as necessary
? A bachelor's degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction (HCI), computer science (CS), related UX degree or equivalent work experience
? At least three (3) years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, front-end developer, or similar UX/UI development-related role
? Demonstrated experience with client-side frameworks, such as AngularJS, React, and Backbone.js
? Experience building cross-platform, cross-browser, responsive design components using Bootstrap and/or Foundation frameworks
? Experience with Mustache, Handlebars, Jade, dust.js, or other templating engines
? Experience communicating with web services and APIs within client-side interfaces
? Understanding of the web technology stack, e.g. HTTP, cookies, headers, caching, DNS lookup, etc.
? Working knowledge of build systems for automating tasks, such as Webpack, Grunt or Gulp
? Familiarity with front-end testing frameworks and test development (preferably Selenium and Protractor)
? Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment, with highly creative development teams
? Must be self-motivated, proactive, and able to execute tasks independently and within a team environment
? Eagerness to learn and develop new skills continuously
? Strong written and oral communication skills
