Job Description

Work Days/Hours: PT 32 hrs/wk Daytime Hours; May include weekends and holidays.

JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates Thrift Store activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through staff/volunteers.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Examines all jewelry donations (including watches). Arranges for new batteries for valuable watches. Repairs valuable jewelry items. Places earrings on earring cards.
•Prices jewelry items.
•Selects and arranges jewelry items in display cases and countertop displays in suitable locations in the store.
•Selects hi-quality, colorful clothing for display on mannequins.
•Selects items for seasonal displays throughout the store and places them in position. Seasonal displays include, but are not limited to, Valentine’s Day, Saint Patrick’s Day, Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
•Selects “Not for Sale” items for display on upper shelves in suitable locations in the store.
•Maintains displays of handbags in suitable locations in the store.
•Maintains displays of fashion accessories, such as scarves and valuable shoes, in suitable locations in the store.
•Coordinates work of specific volunteers to cull, clean and dust displays of housewares, glassware, and small appliance items in the store daily.
•Coordinates work of specific volunteers to perform rack recovery in the morning before the store opens to the public, as well as at 2 hour intervals throughout the sales day.
•Coordinates work of specific volunteers to size and colorize all apparel racks daily.
•Selects items daily for “markdown” for sale on racks placed on the sidewalk area outside of the store.
•Greets and assists customers. Maintains excellent customer relations
•Assures all merchandise bears price tags.
•Assists with processing keyed voids on the cash register to reverse incorrectly keyed sales transactions.
•Assists with operating cash register in a responsible and willing manner.
•Maintains the store in a clean, neat, and orderly manner at all times.
•Coordinates volunteers that assist in the daily operation of the store.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

•High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
•Must have Two (2) year’s of experience in retail sales/merchandising.
•Must have a valid Florida Driver License, maintain current auto insurance coverage and have access to a reliable automobile.
•Ability to work unsupervised in the field, exercising discretion and independent judgment.
•Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations, as well as documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
•Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
•Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
•Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
•Ability to operate a facsimile, copy machines, computers and other common office machines, with working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel and other software appropriate to positions.
