Location: 110 SE Watula Ave, 3rd Floor, Ocala, FL 34471, Florida
This is a semi-skilled and labor intense position in trimming, topping and removing trees from right-or-ways and easements for the construction and maintenance of electric utility lines. Reports to the Tree Trimmer Foreman.
 Examples of Duties:
Provides assistance to crewmembers by chipping brush, stacking or loading wood, and clean up of work area. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. up to 5' high.

Operates a variety of vehicles to include operation of heavy machinery, tractors, and tools and equipment normally used for tree trimming.

Secures work area by providing designated signs, cones, and other traffic control devices in appropriate position. May be required to work as a flag person who may require standing for prolong periods of time.

Trains to trim top, and remove trees without interruption of electric service.

Trains to operate a bucket truck, chipper and chainsaw, which may require prolong standing in a confined space.

Shares in the maintenance of equipment including saws, trucks, and chipper used in the field and follows proper operating procedures and safety practices.

Communicates with other employees in person and by two-way radio, politely and clearly and also communicates in person at job sites to customers.

Availability during emergencies is required.
 Typical Qualifications:


High school graduate or G.E.D. Must have a minimum of six month's experience on a tree trimming crew and be able to climb trees and work in awkward positions at variable heights.


Must obtain a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL CLASS A) within 90 days of employment.


The employee must, within one year of date of hire or promotion to this position, reside within 30 minutes of the assigned work facility.
 Supplemental Information:

Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Ability to work alone to complete and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to supervise/direct crew and accomplish job tasks in absence of foreman. Ability to remain calm in emergency situations. Must be able to work at heights up to 100' and climb trees safely to complete trimming or removal.
